On Friday, April 24, master throat singer Batzorig Vaanchig brings the powerful sounds of the Mongolian steppe to the historic Nieuwe Kerk in Groningen. Known worldwide for his extraordinary Mongolian throat singing (khöömii) and his mastery of traditional instruments such as the morin khuur (horse-head fiddle) and tovshuur (lute), Batzorig presents a unique concert featuring ancient songs, traditional melodies, and the hypnotic sounds of Mongolian music.
