Discover the captivating sounds of the Mongolian jaw harp during this unique full-day workshop with Beatbox Ray (Narandelger Byambaa)—one of Mongolia's pioneering beatbox artists and founder of the Mongolian Ethnic Jaw Harp Players Association.

Throughout the day, you'll be introduced to three traditional Mongolian jaw harps: the iron jaw harp, bamboo jaw harp, and the rare Mongolian bow harp. Beatbox Ray will guide you through the essential techniques, breathing methods, rhythm exercises, and the characteristic playing styles of each instrument.

Alongside traditional techniques, you'll also discover how Beatbox Ray combines these centuries-old instruments with modern beatbox, creating a unique musical style that bridges Mongolia's rich cultural heritage with contemporary musical expression.

Throughout the workshop, Ray will perform several of his own compositions, demonstrating the remarkable versatility and expressive possibilities of these traditional instruments. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions and learn more about Mongolia's musical traditions and culture.

Whether you're a musician, mouth harp enthusiast, overtone singer, or complete beginner, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of Mongolia's leading ambassadors of the jaw harp.

Each participant receives three traditional Mongolian jaw harps to take home:

  • One iron jaw harp
  • One bamboo jaw harp
  • One Mongolian bow harp
